Individual Development Program

The Individual Development Program is a seminar series for personal and professional development for women. It is a 16 hour program that provides casual training and practice opportunities in public speaking, general communications and job performance skills.

The program was developed by the Business and Professional Women/USA as a leadership tool to local organizations and members. Buffalo/Amherst BPW has partnered with the YWCA Tonawandas to present this training to the women of Western New York.

  • Are you uncomfortable getting up in front of a crowd and talking?
  • Do you wish you could develop glitzy presentations to sell your business, or yourself?
  • Are you afraid to run for office in an organization because you don't understand how to run a meeting, or chair a committee in an efficient/effective manner?
  • Are you reluctant to stand up in front of a camera and advocate for your business, or a cause that you believe in?

If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, we have a training program that can help you!

The Individual Development Program is a personal development program for women that includes:

  • Communication skills
  • How to make presentations
  • How to market yourself
  • Negotiation skills
  • How to run a meeting
  • Business etiquette
  • Understanding the Legislative World
  • Media relations

Small class sizes will enable you to learn in a comfortable environment. Also included in the course are opportunities to learn how to make a speech, how to deal with difficult people and how to network.
